What on earth are zines, anyhow? Long before the internet gave niche communities their own space to share and discuss issues, ideas and news, underground independent magazines, or zines, were regularly written, photocopied and distributed. Poetry, art, memoir, fiction – anything was worthy of a zine. Today zines (large and small) are once again in vogue, but with better production values! I think of them as “storylets” something that lets you tell a brief story in 8 or 12 pages. I love zines because they let me experiment -- be serious, be humorous, be philosophical, be whatever strikes me. And my zines are always about cats! I hope you enjoy reading them as much as I enjoy writing them!
